Cookie Policy

Last updated : 2 November, 2026

I keep cookies to a minimum. The site works without any optional cookies, and I only use them if you agree to them in the cookie banner.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser. They help the site work properly, and some show how visitors use it.

2. Cookies I use

My site runs on Squarespace, which sets two kinds of cookies:

• Strictly necessary cookies (always on): these keep the site secure, remember your basket at checkout, keep you logged in to your course account, and remember your cookie choices. Most last only until you close your browser; a few last longer, so the site can remember your choices.

• Analytics cookies (only with your consent): these count visitors and visits, so I can see which pages are useful and improve the site. They come from Squarespace Analytics and Google Analytics, and last from 30 minutes to 2 years.

For a full list of the cookies Squarespace sets and how long each one lasts, see The cookies Squarespace uses. For Google Analytics, see how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

3. Your consent

Strictly necessary cookies don’t need your consent, because the site can’t work without them. I only use analytics cookies if you agree, and you can change your mind at any time using the Cookie Preferences link at the bottom of every page.

4. Managing cookies

As well as the cookie banner, you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the site, such as checkout or your course account, may not work.

5. Contact

For any questions about cookies, email contact@howtolearnlanguages.info. See my Privacy Policy for how I handle your personal data.
