Sean Price, Founder of How to Learn Languages, studying Chinese at cafe in Hanoi, Vietnam

About the Author

Hi, I’m Sean. I began teaching myself languages in 2018 whilst studying History at the University of Leeds, including a year studying at the Sorbonne in Paris conducted entirely in French. Since then, I’ve continued learning languages independently for research, enjoyment, and daily life. This process has shaped the way I think about language learning.

I have a Diploma in English Language Teaching (DELTA) from the University of Cambridge and have over six years’ experience teaching both online and in the classroom.

I now live in Hanoi, where I’m completing a Master’s degree in History at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, studying entirely in Vietnamese.

This website brings together my experience as a self-directed learner and as a teacher. I focus on sustainable and enjoyable language learning - built on consistency and key principles that anyone can apply to their own journey.
